Adesuwa Timeline
Our Journey to a sustainable future in Coker Village
Volunteer work in Nigeria
In 2007, when our Chairwoman Jennifer Westholt returned to Germany from voluntary service in Nigeria, she talked to her friends and family about her experiences. We all agreed immediately: together we can achieve more!Dafür bedankt sich das Adesuwa-Team!
Foundation
We founded the NGO Adesuwa.
Cooperation with “Child Aid International”
Initially we worked together with a local Nigerian NGO (“Child Aid International“) to organize a monthly “Kids Club” for orphaned children in Lagos. Through information and charity events as well as flea market sales we received enough donations to provide monthly food packages and medicine for the children in the Kids Club.
New Project
But we wanted to reach more children! In 2012 we initiated a new project: sending rural children to school.
Sponsorship Program
Following discussion with local chiefs, teachers and families in Coker Village, we were finally able to implement our Sponsorship Program in 2013. We started with 20 children. 4 members travel to Coker Village for the project “Healthy Teeth“
